Hello Silkroad stakeholders.
If you have data with Silkroad please read this in full as that you need to act now.
We would suggest that you contact the Silkroad board or their solicitor as that the management team cannot be trusted. If you are a Silkroad associate you should contact the board if you wish to support this message.
Board: Warren Weiss wweiss@foundationcap.com
Solicitor: Dietrich L. Snell dsnell@proskauer.com
John Shackleton, Kamran Kheirolomoom and David Winter are the three main hose-heads hurting Silkroad.
John Shackleton is senile or evil, maybe both. His claim to fame is to take Silkroad from a $450 mil company to one that is now worth less than $200 mil. When the forecast for sales drops you take the highest paid people and eliminate them. The layoffs that have occurred over the past month have killed all of products in favor of the products backed by the company that is owned partially by John and Kamran. This is App Crest. John is the Chairman and Kamran is the president. John will deny that he is the Chairman but filings with the State of Delaware, where App Crest is incorporated, show him to be a liar. It would be difficult for the board to fire John due to the amount of pay that he has deferred and is due on termination. The board should put him out to pasture anyway given his continued failures. The email files that are referenced below show a large number of PowerPoint presentations for the board, and as best as we can tell very few of the "forecasted" items came to pass and the next presentation to the board would drop them as if they never existed.
Kamran Kheirolomoom is an ego maniac and narcissist, though this too weak of a description. In his mind Kamran has never entered a room where he wasn't the smartest one in the room. Silkroad's customer has always been HR. HR buys our solutions to solve specific problems and often to replace internal systems or processes with something more standard and flexible. The new plan is to sell to the IT community some sort of application that lets you build applications. At the Sales Kick Off we were told that we are no longer selling Onboarding, but this Talent Activation nonsense. The inmates have truly escaped from the asylum. We view him as an evil uncle fester from the Addams Family.
(RedCarpet) and haven't been selling the ATS (OpenHire) for more than a year. We are supposed to be selling Talent Activation though it doesn't appear to be in a state that it can reliably be shown as a demo. Customers, new and existing, that have seen the new TA stuff are not impressed. It doesn't even seem like we have even started writing the product.
David Winter, he is called internally "feces" face. He is the sort of butt snuggler that Kamran likes to surround himself with. People that don't appear to have any mind of their own. David Winter was supposed to bring a new reporting system. The stuff we have seen is ugly and unsatisfying. If you look at the time lines for both Talent Activation (used to be called Talent Center) and Data Analytics everything appears to be late or completely missing. David Winter doesn't have the business acumen or technical skill to help my 12 year old niece run her summer lemonade stand.
When reviewing the plan it appears that Kamran has convince everyone that he has Microsoft in his pocket. They are apparently thinking that this lame App Crest model is something Microsoft will buy. We have trouble with the hubris of these a-holes. Why would Microsoft have any desire to buy something that is barely more than a drawing on the back of an envelope. The demo isn't stable. We are embarrassed to show potential customers the product and have to lie about the functionality.
What about the latest round of layoffs? They laid off Joanna the development manager who turned the RedCarpet (onboarding) product around seven or so years ago by our count. This was after Phillip Lynn was fired from position for gross incompetence. One source says final straw was his treatment of a female software engineer on the team. Today we discover that the two people who were laid off of the RedCarpet team recently was Joanna and the female engineer who Phillip Lynn was harassing. Phillip Lynn has now been put in charge of the RedCarpet (onboarding) product again. I am told that the only reason Andy saved Phillip's job and made him an individual contributor is that he would have been deported back to Pakistan (he is here on some work visa). This looks like a case of discrimination on a couple of different levels. Based on the number of women laid off in this recent purge, women were targeted. We give Phillip til the end of the year to screw the product up again. We think he should get a one way ticket back to Pakistan. I don't imagine that Phil Beckman will be much help as that he is another one of Kamran's butt snugglers. Phil Beckman doesn't appear to understand any of the products or have a command of any of the technology that the products are based upon. And why did they lay off Courtney, she is awesome? Was it because she wasn't the right sex?
Phil Beckman is cut out of the same arrive late and leave early cloth that that Greg Van Den Ham wears.
To help you come to your own conclusions we have put the full email archives we have from a year ago on a server. This server also has copies of all of the messages we have sent the board/management over the past two or three years. Additionally there is a text file on this site with our email contact information. With the help of the Manilla IT team we have full command of the production access we need to burn Silkroad down if we wanted to.
We would like to think that management would see that RedCarpet and Agile Performance with a common SSO would be a pattern that Silkroad would adopt. They couldn't see the value. They just sold an OEM deal to Career Builder and now they are stopping development of the product. Bet Career Builder didn't see that coming. And if you are a customer you should understand that the whole management team has moved on and the application you are paying for doesn't have any mind share. See if you can get John, Kamran, David or even the VP of Development Phil Beckman to talk to you about the product you are paying for, not likely in our minds. You would think that the lack of progress and missed dates would have alerted the board that something was wrong. But they haven't seen it or maybe they don't care. We are betting on the don't care aspect. If you are a Silkroad customer or employee you should think very carefully about your future. The next user conference is going to be a sales pitch and none of the existing products you use are going to matter to the people in charge. If you are a Silkroad customer you should probably reach out to X-Silkroad employees like Andy Brand (andrewmbrand@gmail.com) for help in getting your data. Andy was at least existing product and customer focused instead of clinically insane management team we have right now.
We have discovered that the authentication keys used by SSO are available to anyone. What this means is that we can access any customer site for which the GetSession API isn't protected by IP address. If Silkroad denies this we will prove that we can do it for a single customer. We haven't executed the hack but have verified we could do it. We have also looked at the SAML that is being generated and feel that there is a vulnerability with the SAML library that is being used but we haven't proven it yet.
We are going to need help with some audio recordings that we have from a device:
www.amazon.com/Mini-Voice-Recorder-Recordings-Protection/dp/B01N5QLWED
We had two these in Chicago and have a large amount of audio to go through. We are looking for volunteers to help transcribe audio files. We also have more production related information from late 2017 that we may be exposing in the future.
For accessing the data that we have or finding our contact information you can use FileZilla and connect using FTP to IP 95.211.147.244 as user gvandenham password Express312 (our homage to the boob). There are outlook msg files from all of our communications in the past and outlook pst files for the email history for a number of senior management at Silkroad. If you have data that you want to contribute you can also upload to the 'upload' folder using this account.
How aggressive we get in the future it driven by the truthfulness of the management team to the employees, customers and the board.
Everyone should be distancing themselves from Silkroad. We employees need to find better more sane work, as much as we love the 6 weeks of vacation. Customers need to find a better more ethical company for their HR needs.
Silkroad will probably get around to locking down email given that this is the 3rd time we powned it. If so we will be communicating with one of the email accounts listed on the contact information. If you wish to add an email send us a "subscribe" message or if you want to unsubscribe send us an unsubscribe (see CONTACT.txt on the FTP site). We won't be sending to "Silkroad.com" addresses in the future as that our email addresses is blocked.
Faithfully yours
